The first in a series of our newest collection of scarves entitled "Empire of Death"
As we endure a global pandemic that has re-shaped the way we live, designer Katharina Mior meditates on humanity's history and relationship with plagues, paying homage to royal figures from history who themselves succumbed to the Black Death. These scarves are a reminder that death is the great mediator: that we must work together (but from six feet apart) and show kindness, compassion, community care, humility and patience as we navigate our reality.
The first in this series, "Queen Maria I" pays respect to Maria of Sicily who died in 1401.
Hand designed by Katharina Mior, and produced through vibrant digital sublimation printing on 100% chiffon, these scarves are a true statement piece and are a generous 50" x 50".
